Scrap Metal Price Update

Date

Copper prices are on the move, and Sahd Metal Recycling has updated all of its prices here:  https://recycleyourmetal.com/home-2/.  Because we believe in operating with integrity and transparency these prices are always available on our site.  When considering pricing for your metals there are many factors at play, and we’d like to mention some of the most important ones.

1. How much metal do you have to recycle?

Quantity definitely matters when it comes to recycling scrap metal.  Our price sheet is our standard price for anyone bringing any amount of metal to be recycled. However, we offer loyalty program price bonuses for a good quantity, generally over a few tons of steel and a few hundred pounds per trip of copper, brass, aluminum or stainless steel.  Our repeat customers who recycle with us enjoy these benefits of pricing upgrades every time they visit.  For our industrial customers we offer upfront formula pricing.  We peg each metal to a certain category on the LME, metalexchangedirect.com or fastmarkets.com report to establish a benchmark for your metal.

2.  How clean is your metal?  How organized is your scrap metal recycling program?

Is your metal mixed or comingled in a manner that will cause a good deal of time to sort or is it organized and clean by type and separated.  The Sahd Metal Crew loves to educate our customers on the little ways you can clean your metal to make more money for your scrap.  Copper without paint and any solder ends is #1, wire that is thick and not hair wire is bare brite copper, etc.  There are many ways to clean  your metal to get more money for your scrap.

In an industrial or commercial application Aileen will come out and do a customer assessment to see if we can provide your with dumpsters or bins to help you organize your metal to make your pricing better for your organization.  The more organized you can keep your scrap the better pricing will be.  Sahd Metal Recycling believes in giving customers value for the various grades of metal in their container but you can make even more money for segregating it on site if this is an interest and if it can improve the results of your metal recycling program.

3.  Can you pick up my metal?

Small amounts definitely need to be brought into our scrap metal yard in Columbia, but if your organization is in the Lancaster, York, Dauphin or Lebanon County areas and if your project or facility generates enough scrap we can facilitate a pickup.  Our 24 hour turnaround team will come out and do an assessment and see if it makes sense.  If you are unsure, a great place to start is to email Aileen pictures at aileen@recycleyourmetal.com.  Sometimes that is a great way to start the conversation to see if we can help you improve your recycling program.

So, let’s hope scrap metal pricing stays up and we can all generate as much money for the metal as possible!
