Safe Open Space Matters When Recycling Heavy Machinery and Demolition Scrap Metal

Date

“Location, location, location” is a time honored principle and when considering scrap metal yards for heavy machinery and demolition scrap it’s essential to be close to lower hauling fees.  An often more important consideration is having room to work, something we are aware of at Sahd Metal Recycling!

With the variety of cleanup scrap projects happening in our area one thing has become clear, whether we are hauling the material or a rigging company is bringing it in you need space to work with!  Sahd Metal Recycling is blessed with a 20 acre site with plenty of level ground for your cranes to set up on.  Having space to safely work and offload is an important consideration that not every scrap yard has.  And, because we process scrap metal right away you can be assured that your material will be handled in an environmentally friendly way and if needed we can provide you with the certificate of destruction necessary.

This space to work and commitment to safe handling, certification of destruction for sensitive patterns, molds, machinery or equipment is not something to be taken for granted when finding a recycling partner.  Plenty of yards do not have the room to support a huge piece of machinery or even the equipment to offload.  With two of our material handlers involved we can typically off load up to 18,000 pounds.  We will consider other pieces that are larger if you send pictures for consideration, but much more than that and we’d need the rigging company to bring one of their cranes in to do the job.

The good news is that in our area we have plenty of good, reliable rigging and demolition companies to work with.  Here is a list of companies that have brought their cranes into our yard recently and their crews are very familiar with our process:

In alphabetical order:

Allison Crane

Greiner

Iron Stag

R&T Mechanical

T.L. Jackson
