Volatility is the one given for copper pricing in 2025!

Date

Copper scrap prices took a wild ride in 2024, what is the outlook for 2025?

All we can be sure of is that volatility will be the word when discussing copper prices in 2025. The Yuan has not been this week against the US Dollar in 17 years. That usually bodes poorly for the price of scrap copper, brass, insulated wire and copper aluminum radiators.

The uncertainty surrounding metal prices is due to the trade war that we anticipate is coming. Tariff retaliation always hits exporters like scrap metal companies hard and 2025 could be no exception. If this, the port strike or any of the other uncertainties clear up copper prices will skyrocket higher. It just may be some time and some more lows could happen before the uptick occurs.

The Sahd Metal Crew will keep you posted with changes in the scrap metal pricing as they happen!
