The “old guy” among the new crew shared his wisdom with the Crew in the latest Dumpster Talk! Matt Bray has joined our team as an Operations Leader and has 13 years of experience in the scrap metal industry working on the front lines and in all aspects of the business. The conversation centered on many of the aspects of life in a scrap metal yard and all the items and jobs that can happen to make each day very different! One common theme among employees in a scrap metal environment is that they enjoy the variety in their day. From buying, processing and selling aluminum, copper and brass to torching steel every day can present a unique challenge depending on what comes in from our retail customers or what we bring in in our industrial rolloffs. The crew also discusses the broader financial impact on metal prices from factors in the economy. Matt discussed life as a young father with his kids and the time commitment necessary to do that job right. It’s the most important job any of us have and Matt’s wisdom to get established before children is a good one.
