2009 Results

4,645 pounds of aluminum cans brought in an increase of 47% from last year, meaning 157,930 aluminum cans were recycled in one day!

OVER $800 for the Columbia Food Bank from receipts from our bake sale, Rita's Italian Ice and Smith's Hotel's Cheesesteaks!

A big thank you to our sponsors, who took kids of all ages through the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Passport Program---North Museum, Lancaster County Career Technology Center, Brubaker Farms, River Valley Disposal, Randy Haberstroh Beekeeper, Shred-It, Columbia Tree Commission, Master Gardener Bonnie Griffith, Quaker Metals, Millersville University Technology, Columbia High School, Mandee Havrilla's Kids Corner, Columbia Library Storytime and Active Kids with Ted Romich!

 

155 kids took the Rita's Earth Day Challenge and learned about Reducing, Reusing and Recycling and earned a free Rita's Italian Ice!

ALUMINUM CAN CONTEST

Bring your aluminum cans in, get paid 5 cents per pound extra and put in a drawing for a $50 prize.  A $100 prize to the group or individual with the most cans!

 

COLUMBIA FOOD BANK FUNDRAISER--Proceeds from sale of Smith's Hotel mini-Cheesesteaks, Rita's Italian Ice and the Bake Sale all to Columbia Food Bank!
